Blackburn College

Completed Renewable Energy & Infrastructure Upgrades: The project included the installation of a 2 MW solar farm (5,546 panels), which now generates 3.1 million kWh annually, meeting approximately 80% of the college’s electricity needs. It also funded improvements to athletic facilities and Jewell Hall.

Utilized Sustainable Financing: The initiative was financed through bonds paired with Illinois Solar Renewable Energy Credits (SRECs) under the 2017 Future Energy Jobs Act, advancing clean energy and campus modernization.

Blackburn Solar

Financing Capital Improvements & Refunding: Blackburn College secured up to $5,000,000 in revenue bonds to fund renovations (Lumpkin Learning Commons Library, Anderson Alumni Center, Dawes Gymnasium) and equipment, while refinancing prior debt.

Project Scope: Proceeds will support facility upgrades, including library, alumni center, and gymnasium renovations, as well as cover bond issuance costs.

Community Health Improvement Center (CHIC)

Constructed a New Healthcare Facility: CHIC, a 501(c)(3), completed a 29,125 sq. ft. facility featuring 60 exam rooms, behavioral health services, labs, radiology, administrative offices, and community spaces. At full capacity, it serves 20,000 patients annually with 54,000 visits.

Boosted Local Economy & Employment: The project created and retained 78 jobs, expanding access to comprehensive healthcare services in the Wabash Crossing community.

Huntington Ridge

Renovated Affordable Housing Complex: Dominium Companies acquired and rehabilitated the 96-unit Huntington Ridge Apartments in Springfield, IL, investing $17,000–$20,000 per unit in upgrades including kitchens, bathrooms, flooring, lighting, and exterior improvements like parking and landscaping.

Preserved Affordable Housing & Jobs: The project extended the property’s lifespan as affordable housing post-tax credit compliance, while creating/retaining 37 full-time jobs.
